How We Detect Pool Leaks

Leak Detectives uses state of the art leak detection equipment that has been manufactured specifically for underwater use to detect pool leaks. Some of the equipment we use include.

The Leakalyzer enables us to quickly determine if a pool is losing water and how much water it’s losing. The device measures water level changes to the 10,000th of an inch and tracks these changes in real time on a digital graph. Watching this real-time data enables us to identify leaks in as little as 5 minutes.

The industry staple, LeakTrac 2400 uses patented technology to direct us to even the smallest pinhole leaks in minutes. The LeakTrac 2400 finds leaks by putting a small electrical charge into the pool then tracking the flow of electricity as it makes connections to the ground through conductive penetrations in the liner. This technology is effective on any water containing vessel with an electrically insulating shell (i.e. vinyl, fiberglass, etc.)

Pressure Testing

We use a combination of air and water to pressurize your lines. We then use a sonic listening device to check for leaks. This allows us to locate the leak quickly without digging or cutting up your deck pad. Leak Detectives can hear even small leaks metres below decks and earth.
